Sports: Disability Sports Club

Based at de Stafford Sports Centre, this is an opportunity for people with physical/learning disabilities or sensory impairment to enjoy a variety of indoor sports and receive high quality professional coaching.  Sports include Boccia, Trampolining, Badminton and Curling.

 

Disability Sports Club (DSC), is now in its sixth successful year as an inclusive and thriving sports club for disabled people. Set up by Tandridge Leisure Ltd (TLL) * with a ‘Sports Relief’  grant , DSC continues to have free use of the sports hall on a Friday evening during term time from 1930 - 2130.

 

Funding from Tandridge Mencap then enabled DSC to become a voluntary run club.

 

There is always at least one trained coach assisted by volunteers at each session and additional paid coaches for new interesting sports throughout the year.

 

Several of our volunteers have now also received specialist training in “How to coach disabled people in sport”, accredited by Sports Coach UK.
