Theatre Exchange supports schools build creative practice into their curriculum and their approaches to teaching and learning. We work with arts and community venues to offer exciting creative theatre opportunities for children and young people. Our work is not about performance, more about the experience of a creative process.
We employ a company of creative practitioners all of whom have effective creative and communication skills. Our practitioners are rehearsed and trained to deliver our programme of workshops and experiences.
Our practitioners will visit you, usually in pairs, and create an interactive workshop. The children will take part in a series of specially devised stories, exercises and techniques, meeting key characters along the way which will help them experience the world or theme of the workshop, be it a fictional tale, historical truth or social experience.
The participants may be asked to take on the role of the characters from the past, to be time detectives of the future or investigators, they will come face to face with challenges and issues and work alongside the practitioners to problem solve, record their experiences, make decisions and ultimately devise their own creative response.
Our company of loyal practitioners, as part of our commitment to excellence, all receive training in Health & Safety and Child Protection. We ensure every employee has a satisfactory enhanced CRB disclosure. Theatre Exchange holds both Employers’ and Public Liability insurance, copies of which are available on request.
